The direction of scientific and technological developments towards humans thrive is not guaranteed. On the contrary, the interests of a runaway economic greed are driving today’s research and progress. This means a threat to the future of our planet, the human being, and Life itself.

A (his)tory of audiovisual contemporary art created by women from 1944 to 2009. The Indomitable Women selection certainly bespeaks of a passionate process, throughout proposals and reflections developed with the necessary wisdom to allow total freedom of creation under diverse circumstances. 82 Artists with a passion to leave their particular imprints, fearlessly redefining contemporary aesthetics and thought. Including works by Maya Deren, Dara Birnbaum, Yoko Ono, Joan Jonas, Carolee Schneemann, ORLAN, Judy Chicago, VALIE EXPORT, Ana-Bella Geiger, Beryl Korot, Martha Roesler, Ximena Cuevas, Guerrilla Girls, Suzanne Lacy, Joan Logue, Terry Berkowitz, Regina Jose Galindo, Lynn Hershman, Paloma Navares, Dora García, etc.

Since 1990, taxidermist pioneering german artist Iris Schieferstein has worked with dead animals as raw material for her artwork, joining fragments that give life to new creatures with a different meaning and purpose, but always extending the existence and of the flesh that was earlier inhabited by life. In 2004 Macu Moran was invited to present the works of Iris Schieferstein for the first time in Spain at the iconic Galeria Metropolitana of Barcelona, a pioneer art gallery exhibiting highly technological artworks since the early 90s, directed by Pere Soldevila, founder of the LOOP Fair of Video Art in Barcelona, and a key figure in the Spanish contemporary art history.

Talk between Lourdes Fernandez, Director of ARCO Fair, and Macu Moran, Director of New Markets for Artnet.com, reflecting on the current methods and structures of art collecting markets. The debate revolved around issues such as the impact of capitalism in the development of contemporary art, the speed of trends in current aesthetics, and the economic models that different countries provide towards the appropriate development and sustainability of their cultural industries.

This single-channel presentation could be considered as a self-fulfilling prophecy, announcing the imminence of an alternative Europe that, how unsurprising, has always been here. Some of the artworks presented here are stating (in Arabic) that this optional Europe is already "a world that can contain many worlds", as the Zapatistas articulate their own de-colonial perspective. Spanish artists reflecting on the emotional uneasiness of the human being and the effects of life energy in motion. Each generation represents a certain vital sensitiveness, which confronts and develops former ideologies at the same time (Ortega y Gasset). An evolution configured under a structural form in which the human mass is receptive and limited to accept or oppose the proposals made by individuals with "avant-garde hearts and alert souls, condemned not ever to be fully understood."

A collective reflection about the functions of the metropolis, to understand the urban realities of our time, and the location of the human being within the cosmos, with the city as a point of reference, the exhibition will link pieces of audiovisual art directly connected by this leitmotiv, to transmit the adaptation ability of the culture to space. Various reflections about the evolution of the metropolitan areas and the interdependencies between population and the individual through different utopias, critics, and idealizations.

Approaches to desire. Illusory Sex brings about many different approaches to sex and erotic actions developed by and towards different profiles. A broad variety of works that try to express the broad variety of tastes into the matter, different strokes for different folks. In an attempt to explicitly show those differences, the selection invites visitors to peep outside of each one’s comfort zone, and understand the motivations behind the different ways of enjoying sex.

A glimpse at the evolution of the medium, interests, and research of a remarkable group of Peruvian artists. A historic selection that attempts to show the important contributions that Peruvian artists have provided to the development of audiovisual art.

Plastic flux is a selection of video in its most plastic state: drawing, painting, photography, and sculpture expanded in time and movement. Imagery short in words but armed with content able will expand the limits of our visual functionality.

Audiovisual work developed by artist Ana de Alvear (image) and composer Eduardo Polonio (music) that travels through the density of the matter from the smaller elemental particles, the Quarks, to the ever-growing infinite expansions of our cosmos, passing through all the wonders of the natural world, in an explosion of impacts for our senses that signifies the codes of natural beauty. A work that ethereally captures the whole in the fragment and the fragment in the whole.

Pranks, kite flying, music, grass, water, sun, and moon... Elements that undoubtedly rejuvenate life experience, and formulate a new look, fueling delayed feelings and brushing up lost dreams.

Exhibition of audiovisual works, using water as a preconceiving iconography of the philosophical theories about the flow of time, works made by different artists at different times. Logic automatically associates water natural state of flow with movement as a Universal law, as well as with the perpetual continuum of the transformation of the world as reality.
