MACU MOMA
THE ORGANIC CODE
THE ORGANIC CODE
PROGRAMMED EXISTENCE
Born in León, Spain, in 1977 as Maria de la Cruz Morán Marcos, I normally go by Macu Morán. In 2015 I created the artistic pseudonym Macu Moma to incorporate my mother's last name wishing to keep connected and grateful to my parents once they have left this plane of existence through this unconfined artistic identity. My broad spectrum of interests leads me to navigate the vast tangible and intangible realms of human imagery and continue developing an interdisciplinary research of reality.
Since the dawn of my artistic praxis, I have focused on what I call The Organic Code and attempt to transmit the insights of this specific field of visual research through art curations and my own body of work. Based on the revolutionary quantum theories that consider consciousness the ultimate creator of reality, I identified the Universe as an artwork in itself and believe that beauty is the ultimate purpose of all existence. Within this context, this code would be the organically abstract canon which is the essence of beauty, mathematics, and science, and ultimately governs our reality as the true catalyst of the Multi-Universe, beyond the current thresholds of human rationality.
Under this hypothesis, nature is a work of art that clearly expresses this unifying code of the visible and invisible reality. This code has been illustrated in the sacred geometry of the Buddhist mandalas, as well as in the psychedelic art of the counterculture since the 60s, as it is commonly visualized when the pineal gland produces Dimetiltriptamine (DMT), the spiritual molecule, in altered states of consciousness, such as those produced by psychotropic medicines, transcendental meditation rituals and near-death experiences. This code is also very present in pre-logical cultures when thought forms were mainly developed by the limbic cortex, emotionality allowing a mystical fusion of the inner and outer world.
Nowadays, quantum physicists are deeply interested in the findings of Buddhist spirituality; to predetermine the inconceivable attitude of neutrinos, the assimilation of the Organic Code becomes of great help to understand the actions of the universal consciousness in itself, identifying the observer with the observed. To wander around these expressions allows us to glimpse the specular effect of perceiving the whole in the fragment, and the fragment in the whole.
Viewing the organic code patterns and the golden ratio allows us to be candidly astonished by the harmony, the balance, and the symmetry that the complex ingenuity of nature gives to us in all areas of our existence. Obsessed with capturing that ethereal order that structures coherence, my works differ in mediums, techniques, and forms, but they remain faithful to this purpose's style; as a lover of subtleties as complex as the personality of colors and as an ally of light, my condescending brush. The growing possibilities offered by technological advances and new materials encourage my curiosity, allowing me to produce great sensory richness experiences, with the support of many other artists with converging research.
Inspired by the crossroads between art, science, and spirituality, my work appeals to instinct and sensitivity to perceive higher realities, precursors of the species evolution. To this end, I try to articulates elements that relate to the universality of these ideas, trying to reveal the coordinates of galactic activity and the centripetal energies that define our particular destiny. My work perhaps overwhelms rationality with a generous flow of imagination inspired by truth, interlacing images of aesthetic approach and sociological background, in a garden of spheres, lights, colors, curves, and cuts, which appears familiar to our perception and wrap us in a frequency as real as abstract.
I am determined to create alternative realities following the current continuum of the microcosm and the macrocosm, inherent in logic but incorporeal in nature, discovering exciting connections and translating them into our social dimension. I feel deeply committed to the polyhedral development of the contemporary human being's cognitive abilities, trying to co-create with cosmic validity, seducing viewers through their formal empathy with nature, embarking on fascinating suggestions and sensible melodies for the senses with thoughtful fantasy. The universe wraps us with veils of beauty.
Nature of beauty,
the beauty of nature is.
Code of life and truth.

A myth is a fantastic way of conveying unconceivable truths and of creating new truths that come into existence in the collective imagery by the beliefs of masses. Humanity has continually created myths to build our dynamic vision of the world, symbolically representing our relationship with the mysteries of life and seeking the longed-for meaning of existence. Myths act as maps, setting the limits of what is considered possible, and their meanings are intrinsically related to their own time. It is the challenge of each generation to find new myths that encompass the understanding of the conquest of truth. Contemporary myths need to include the latest findings of the ever-going research on our reality's very fabric. As Joseph Campbell stated, myths are public dreams and dreams are private myths. Let’s keep dreaming the dream together, expanding the spectrum of conceivable truth for mankind at the imagery revolution age.

All tangible and intangible imagery are manifestations of absolute consciousness. Existence is created within the continuous interdependence between psyche and cosmos. Hordes of oscillating thoughts project the movement of the sonic particles that structure the whole. We are what we think, and we create what we believe. Creativity manifests existence following the universal order of sacred geometry observed in the analogies between microcosm and macrocosm that show the fragment in the whole and the whole in the fragment. The cosmos exists in these veils of beauty, and Life follows the melody of the organic code. The complex ingenuity of nature reveals the harmony, balance, and symmetry of the essence of beauty, whispering the truth beyond reality. Thus, Life is Art, and Art the very purpose of existence.
Show @ Kronos Festival, Barcelona, Spain
Love is Biology, the mere logic of life. That force of attraction supposes the movement of cosmic consciousness and generates the rhythm of existence, gravity among inorganic masses, or love among biological organisms. Every organic and inorganic manifestation participates in this movement that, different from light and sound, exists outside the temporal dimension. This absolute consciousness exercises the vibrational energy that interconnects tangible and intangible existence with the grace of minimal effort, and beauty the biological variable that forces the creation of life. Within this fabric of sonic waves that encompasses the dynamics of material reality, it is not surprising that consciousness does not reside in the mind, but in the electromagnetic frequency of the heart. It is the heartbeat what connects us to universal consciousness and takes us like a magnet to the highest frequency of existence.
Exhibition @ Festival Kronos, Centre d'Art Santa Monica, Barcelona, Spain
Humanity is immersed in an imagery revolution, in which progress pushes our bit of consciousness towards a drastic change in the perception of the visible and invisible reality. Imagination captures the truth before we can prove it. This eternal advance towards a higher understanding of the reality in which we participate presents us with a difficult scenario to conceive, forcing us to postpone the mundane conception we have made of time and reality to enter into a field of thought that must cover higher summits.

Selection of audiovisual art produced by international artists deeply connected with nature. The Works of these “Soldiers of Life” emanate their compromise with the environment, their duty of protecting nature, and their responsibility in the progressive development of a sustainable civilization within our planet. The direction of scientific and technological developments towards humans thrive is not guaranteed. On the contrary, the interests of a runaway economic greed are driving today’s research and progress. This means a threat to the future of our planet, the human being, and Life itself.

Since 1990, taxidermist pioneering german artist Iris Schieferstein has worked with dead animals as raw material for her artwork, joining fragments that give life to new creatures with a different meaning and purpose, but always extending the existence and of the flesh that was earlier inhabited by life. In 2004 Macu Moran was invited to present the works of Iris Schieferstein for the first time in Spain at the iconic Galeria Metropolitana of Barcelona, a pioneer art gallery exhibiting highly technological artworks since the early 90s, directed by Pere Soldevila, founder of the LOOP Fair of Video Art in Barcelona, and a key figure in the Spanish contemporary art history.

Art is a type of economy that obeys the rules of postfordism, or the producing-consuming system, which converts it into an investment, a pure consumerist, and a media spectacle. Fortunately, there are still enduring forms of resistance whose genesis lies in political commitment and social activism capable of designing strategies that can convulse, to a certain extent, social and artistic practices that generate alternative imaginaries and narratives other than the hegemonic ones, ultimately giving visibility to subjectivities and voices attempted recurrently to be silenced.

This single-channel presentation could be considered as a self-fulfilling prophecy, announcing the imminence of an alternative Europe that, how unsurprising, has always been here. Some of the artworks presented here are stating (in Arabic) that this optional Europe is already "a world that can contain many worlds", as the Zapatistas articulate their own de-colonial perspective. This selection aims at creating awareness beyond the metaphorical; it invites us to think in terms of other genealogies and to stretch our understanding of the so-called North of Africa beyond the borders of our (programmed) imagination.

Creative strategists are a strange breed of people trained to use both brain hemispheres simultaneously, half planners half creators, with the capacities for imagination, empathy, research, memory, organization and intuition strongly developed. While the left side of the brain manages the logic, analysis and structural skills, the "thinkers" skills, the right side direct those of empathy, imagination and intuition, the "visionary" ones. The act of combining concepts from both sides is needed to evolve our society.

KEPLER 186-F LIFE ON ANOTHER EARTH
In this series, Macu Moma continues to explore her concept of The Organic Code, the cannon that she believes operates as a catalyst of our multi-universe beyond the frontiers of current understanding. She proposes an allegory of life in a parallel world, with fractals, textures, light prisms, and microscopic and macroscopic captures, in an effort to reveal the code inherent to life itself.

LifE = mc 2
Life doesn't get created nor destroyed, but transformed
Barcelona © 2006, Macu Moma
Set of 7/7 + 2 a.c.
The transition of images of this work aims to show the life of a child, from his first glimpse of life until gaining consciousness of himself. Based on Plato's Theory of Ideas, the work goes beyond the idea of LIFE. Plato distinguishes between two modes of reality, one which he calls intelligible, the Kosmos Noetos, and another that he called sensitive, Horat Kosmos. Platonic ideas are not mental contents, but objects that relate to mental contents designated by the concept, and expressed through language. These objects or essences remain regardless of whether or not they are thought, they are something different to thought, unique, eternal, and immutable.
The work goes beyond the idea of LIFE as energy. An idea of LIFE (LifE) that, as energy, is neither created nor destroyed, but it is transformed. Based on the Theory of Relativity by Albert Einstein, published in 1905, the work reflects on the equation E = mc ², in which the mass is related to energy, for an object viewed from a reference point which is in rest. Therefore, the work comprises 475 still frames, in overlay transition. The conversion of mass to energy refers to the matter in radiation, further developed in the quantum field theory, that in the work is allegorically shown by colors.
The work LifE=mc2 identifies Life with Energy, manifesting that life is neither created nor destroyed, but transformed. In the context of this reflection, in which lifE is identified with energy, theories of reincarnation that different cultures and ontological approaches have proclaimed from the origins of humankind are shown as theoretically compatible with this scientific law.
The work is very effective in conveying feelings and excite the audience, revering the cosmic code of organic shapes as the root of the human concept of beauty. Music: Lux Aetherna, Clint Mansel Edition: Alberto Garcia Assisting producer: Khristian Dörr
When wild instincts revive, predator sharpens the knife
Predator in a woman's psyche
Malaga © 2006, Macu Moma
Set of 7/7 + 2 a.c.
Predator emerge in a woman's mind as mental and emotional projection, subjugating her libertine and inexhaustible creative mind. The more fantasy she feeds, the stronger the predator becomes, within a progressively reciprocal relationship. This archetype is the product of unconscious beliefs, implicit in most societies since the dawn of humanity. What part of female domestication emanates from her own subconscious? What nourish this mental paradigm? How to put an end to a ghost powered by humanity for ages?

Love time
Málaga © 2008, Macu Moma
Lost work
The work reflects on the speed and length of the contemporary human relationship life cycle. It shows a man and a woman who meet each other, like each other, get to know each other, love each other, enjoy life together, get angry at each other, forgive each other, get sad, get bored, think over, and get away from each other. It all happens in a couple of minutes.
Parallel Coexistences
The life of atoms in alternate realities
Bushwick © 2012, Macu Moma
Set of 7/7 + 2 a.c.
Overlapping of lives of atoms coexisting in the Multiverse, alternate realities within patches often repeating themselves, in a limited range that gathers every outcome that comes from every decision. While an option is in movement from one point to another, every other possibility is moving above and beyond. A multiverse of options and players, while consciousness materializes and comprehend itself.

Me, Myself & I
